Moisture Absorbers 5 gram are made from White Non-Indicating Silica Gel. White Non-Indicating Silica Gel is a very porous form of silica gel. It is a tasteless, odorless, non-toxic, non-corrosive, and chemically inert substance. It is a highly activated adsorbent that is available in numerous mesh sizes designed for many differrent uses. Non-Indicating Silica Gel is the same as Indicating Silica Gel, except that it is white and does not change color when it has reached its moisture adsorption capacity. Recommended Uses White Non-Indicating Silica Gel packs are best used when storing certain moist foods, including jerky (dried meats) and dried fruits. Dehydrated fruits and vegetables also benefit from being stored with silica gel packs, especially when they are dried to the point where they are still moist, such as with sun-dried tomatoes. Other types of foods best stored with the packs are white sugar and salt. Also works well with foods that tend to sprout, such as potatoes and onions. Product Details
