Order Processing

All orders are processed and printed Monday – Friday by 2 pm EST. All orders placed after 2 pm EST,  will be processed the following business day. Please allow a couple days for your order to be packaged and accepted by the shipping carrier. If you have an account with us, you will receive an automated email with tracking information for your order once it has been processed.

September through December are busier than other times of the year for us. Please note it will take extra time to complete your order.

Expedited Shipping

Expedited shipping (including 3 Day select, 2nd Day Air and Next Day air) does not run on the weekends, only on business days. Any expedited order placed on a Friday before 2 pm, will not be received until the following Monday. 

All shipping carriers have announced that they will not guarantee delivery times, even when selecting 1- or 2-day air delivery options. We will continue to ship all expedited orders the day they are received up to 2 pm EST weekdays only, orders placed later will be shipped the following business day.

INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING:

 

We offer UPS (through Zonos) or United States Post Office (USPS) on select items. Please send us an email with products you are interested in and we will send you back the shipping rates available to your area. The Sausage Maker accepts all international orders via Zonos. The only option for shipping is through UPS.

Some products are not eligible for international shipping. When checking out your order, you will be prompted to use Zonos checkout services. The process is fast, easy, and transparent. Your country’s flag on the bottom left of the website is the Zonos cart with your country’s duties and/or customs and competitive live UPS shipping rates.

Cheese, Cures, Natural Casings, Seasonings & Spices

We will not accept returns for Cheese, Starter Cultures (Bactoferm™ Products), Natural Casings, Edible Collagen Casings, Meat Curing Salts, Seasonings, Spices and any other edible ingredients that are added to food products. These items are non-refundable and non-returnable. Natural casings cannot be shipped outside the United States. 

FREE SHIPPING POLICY:

 

All free shipping sales and/or promotions are for the Contiguous United States Only. We will ship orders as quickly as possible using the shipper/carrier of our discretion.

Only items that are eligible will have free shipping applied. Freight items do not qualify for. Please refer to the Freight Shipping Section.

SHIPPING POLICY:

 

Orders placed after 2PM EST will be processed the following business day. If an order is placed on Saturday or Sunday, it will be shipped on Monday or the next business day.

NOTE: Due to a higher volume of sales this season orders may take an additional 1-2 days to ship from the day of purchase.

FREIGHT SHIPPING:

Freight does NOT include areas that need ferry/boat delivery, in these cases, we will ship to the nearest town on the mainland. For all International orders outside of North America, a wire transfer is required. Please contact us for more information.

Tracking numbers are posted to orders after they ship. E-mail notifications are sent if you provided an email address in your order.

Ground Shipping Method (typically 3 to 5 days) :

UNLESS YOU SPECIFY YOUR PREFERRED SHIPPING METHOD AT CHECKOUT, OUR DEFAULT SHIPPING CARRIER IS UPS. IN SOME CASES WE UTILIZE USPS AND FEDEX AT OUR DISCRETION.

Orders may also be shipped with UPS and FedEx Ground Services or USPS First Class or Priority Mail, at our discretion.

Some large/heavy orders will ship via truck. The appropriate arrangements will be made for delivery.

Our goal is to get your order to you in a way that is both reliable and cost-effective.

Next Day Air, 2nd Day Air and 3 Day Select Shipments:

Do you need your order extra fast? Express shipping is available*. The simplest way to see your choices is to put your items into our website’s shopping cart and use the “Calculate Shipping” feature. The available services and their costs are all displayed for you.

If you need further assistance to determine shipping charges, please contact us. Any order received after 2 pm EST will be shipped the next business day.

No deliveries on Saturday or Sunday.

For Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico & Virgin Islands customers, UPS air or international rates apply. Parcel Post or Priority Mail options may be more economical. As mentioned above for express shipping needs, the website’s “Calculate Shipping” option also works well for your area. Add the products you’d like to your shopping cart and the shipping calculator will give you exact rates for your location. If you prefer, our Order Desk can assist you in determining your best shipping option.

United Parcel Service (UPS):

  • Is UPS service available for my address?

    UPS service is available to physical addresses worldwide. Include a complete and accurate address when you order. Mistakes or omissions can result in late deliveries and additional charges from UPS.

    During Checkout
    To quote shipping charges, www.sausagemaker.com makes an inquiry of www.sausagemaker.com for the weight (and box dimensions) of the items in your order and the zip code you entered. If UPS does not recognize your ZIP code, UPS services aren’t available for your order. Make sure you use the correct ZIP code for your physical address so UPS rates can be quoted for you.

  • What happens if there is a problem during shipping? Is my order insured?

    All packages are insured at our expense. This expense is not included in the shipping rates quoted by the Sausage Maker website.

  • Can UPS deliver to my PO Box?

    UPS cannot deliver to PO Box addresses including APO/FPO (military) addresses. UPS can deliver to “Rural Route Box” (RR, RD, HC) addresses as these identify the actual receiver’s location (their physical address). Note: Many of these addresses have been updated with street numbers and street names. Please use the newer address if available.

  • Can I find out when my (UPS) order will be delivered?

    Packages shipped with UPS are trackable from pickup through delivery. If you provided an email address when you placed your order, you will receive the tracking number(s) for your order via email. If you don’t receive this message, please contact us. We’ll track your order for you.

  • What do I do if a package arrives damaged?

    Please report any breakage or damage to the carrier. Do not return damaged items to us without first contacting the carrier. We must receive notice of damaged goods within 10 days of delivery.

    Be sure to keep all packaging. The carrier (UPS, FedEx, USPS) may not pay for damaged goods unless they can inspect the original package.

  • My order is late. What should I do?

    UPS guarantees time in transit. If your order is 2 or more days overdue, check the UPS tracking system (if you’ve received your UPS tracking number from us) please contact us.

    If the answer isn’t in the tracking system, we’ll contact UPS right away to locate your package. If UPS is unable to locate your order, we’ll reship it to you at our expense.

  • My order is being shipped outside the US. Do I follow the same procedure for reporting a shipping problem (late, damaged, etc)?

    International Shipments
    UPS tracking is available and the same procedures are followed for reporting a damaged or missing shipment. Customs agencies in each country may cause unexpected delays and occasionally communication regarding a delay isn’t prompt.

    If you have the UPS tracking number you can contact UPS in your own country to inquire or you can contact us.

  • What days does UPS make deliveries?

    UPS operates on regular business days (Mon-Fri). Saturday delivery is available for express services and for an additional “Saturday Delivery” fee. Call us if you need this service.

FedEx Home Delivery

FedEx offers residential deliveries Tuesday through Saturday through the FedEx Home Delivery service. One of the key benefits for our customers is that orders placed on the weekend should be delivered anywhere in the contiguous US by the next weekend.

Deliveries to businesses will use FedEx Ground service; which operates Monday – Friday only.

  • Is FedEx service available for my address?

    We’ll open a claim with FedEx who will then contact you to pick up the damaged package(s). We’ll arrange to re-ship your order to you at our expense.

  • My order is late. What should I do?

    FedEx guarantees time in transit. If your order is 2 or more days overdue, check the FedEx tracking system (if you’ve received your FedEx tracking number from us) or contact us.

UNITED STATES POSTAL SERVICE(USPS)

  • What USPS options are available to the US?

    US Postal Service services are available to addresses in the United States via Priority Mail and Parcel Post. Deliveries are made Monday through Saturday. As with UPS rates, USPS rates are quoted by www.sausagemaker.com through a live connection with www.sausagemaker.com USPS rates will not be quoted if your ZIP code is incorrect or if your order weighs more than 70 lbs.

  • What happens if there is a problem during shipping? Is my order insured?

    All packages are insured at our expense. This expense is not included in the shipping rates quoted by the Sausage Maker website.

  • Does the US Postal Service deliver to other countries?

    The USPS offers service worldwide but shipments to addresses outside the U.S. (including APO/FPO addresses) are not trackable. International service options are displayed during checkout.

  • How long will it take to receive my order after it's shipped with the US Postal Service?

    Priority Mail packages to the US (including Alaska and Hawaii) rarely take more than 4 days to be delivered.

    Parcel Post packages to the US may take 1 to 2 weeks to be delivered regardless of the distance they need to travel.

    Shipments to international addresses may take several weeks regardless of service. Since these packages are not trackable, it isn’t easy to tell when and where delays occur (within the USPS, Customs, or the destination country’s postal service).

  • When will my (USPS) order be delivered?

    We use Delivery Confirmation Service for all shipments to the U.S. so all of these orders are trackable. If you provided an email address when you placed your order, you will receive the tracking number(s) for your order via email. If you don’t receive this message, please call us at (716)265-3128. We’ll track your order for you. For international orders, we can only relay when we shipped your order as tracking services aren’t available.

  • It's been a long time. Where is my order?

    For any USPS shipment (U.S. or International), if your order has not been received within 30 days, contact The Sausage Maker at (716)265-3128 or via email to [email protected]. We’ll follow up with the USPS and if appropriate, will reship your order at our expense.

    Note: If it’s been less than 30 days we can take a new order (at your expense) and will later credit you for your first order if it cannot be located by the US Postal Service (after 30 days and time for them to look into it).

Shipping to Canada

To Our Customers In Canada:

We are currently taking orders on our website to Canada on select items through an international checkout app called Zonos which calculates taxes and duties on those goods. You can choose Postal Service, UPS, and DHL. Some products that are not available for international shipping, include Starter Cultures (bacteria), natural casings, and some curing ingredients like Insta Cure. These products may become eligible in the future.
