I received this on time and in perfect condition. It works perfectly for brining small to medium-sized batches of stuff. I brined a 10# bag of boneless, skinless chicken breasts and it was nice not having one “floater” in the whole batch. Everything was held under the brine exactly as intended. Much easier than putting a saucer or foil-covered brick or something on top of your meat to keep it submerged.

A great alternative to the larger ‘Briner’. Briner Jr. easily fits inside an ordinary home refrigerator. Accommodates wide variety of foods for brining smaller quantities with less ingredients used.

Would recommend both items at Sausage Maker’s great pricing with their free and fast shipping!

I just used this briner for the first time this past weekend. It is an excellent product that does exactly what it was designed to do. the only fault that I can find with it is the cover,it is a bit flimsy(it resembles the lid from a 3lb coffee can),but i can live with that.

The Briners concept is simple but it is, genius. It is well designed, easy to use, and works as it should. Used this to do a wet cure for buckboard bacon worked great and I did not have to worry about a zipper bag leaking etc…

    Good briner+++

Perfect Briner. Perfect size for what I need it

  7. Mike B (verified owner)

The Briner Jr. is going to serve my small batch pickle needs superbly.

  8. Leaping Lapin Farm (verified owner)

Perfect size for fermenting cabbage. Very good size. Would work for any fermentation of veggies. I covered in a clean cloth and used the plastic holder to keep cabbage at brine level. Worked very well. Better than my old heavy crock.

The securable insert to hold the material below the brine is pure genius.

I love this product. this was a gift for my son and his family. I’ve been using mine for years now and wouldn’t use any other product.

You’ll find lots of reviews about this and most are the same, this is a fantastic idea and a way to brine items, but the plastic is pretty thin. I can see someone taking it out of a fridge when its full of water and hitting it into something sorta sharp and punch a hole into it.

Always a good experience. Great customer service.

Great product that works as advertised. It’s the perfect size for my small family of two — turkey breaths, whole chickens, small pork butt all fit fine. However, if you have visions of brining a whole Turkey go with the bigger model!

Order arrived on time. No hassle or worries. Will be ordering from here again.

I like this size for the smaller batches of pickles and sauerkraut I make. It is a bit large for some of the pickles, but I’m happy with the design that I don’t care if there is more headspace than desired.

  19. Doug B (verified owner)

If you are fan of brining there is no better product to make brining easier and keeping your food submerged in the brine. I have this one and the larger model as well. Now if I could only get it to automatically flip my meat. 😉

awesome for brining ………takes the guess work out of finding the right container

  22. Alexei Tchertkov (verified owner)

Isn’t I have expected. The plastic is too thin.

We use these to brine chickens in for Competition. Space saver, time saver, mess saver!

Works as advertised, made brining easy. Highly recommend.

The sturdiness of this 8qt Briner Jr container matches its big brother Briner 22 qt as well as the internal locking plate used to keep products submerged. A Really BIG HOWEVER, the cover looks and feels so flimsy and cheaply made that it is really disappointing for this brand to cut corners and go cheap as possible on the cover.. Hopefully I can find a sturdy cover that will last as long as the bucket. Final Words, Bucket 5 and internal locking plate get 5 Stars. The cover gets negative 5 stars…

Works great, easy to use, easy to clean.

I have a Briner Jr. and a full size briner, but I would suggest that a briner about 3 gallons would be ideal for home use, with a diameter about the same as the large briner. The big briner is a little tall for the average refrigerator. I like to brine about 8-10 lbs of salmon at a time and the Jr. is too small and the big briner is 2 big.
    Thanks,
