Description

Used in Smoked or Cooked Sausages. Binds the fat and meat for a smoother consistency. Cuts shrinkage in the smokehouse by improving moisture retention. Contains 7 times more protein than meat does. If you’re going to make smoked or cooked sausage or lunchmeats, this item is a must.
Use 1-2 cups of soy protein concentrate per 10 lbs. of meat. Do not pack when measuring! 5 lbs. soy protein concentrate will process approximately 70-140 lbs. of meat.

He makes a lot of his own sausages etc, and if we are not able to find something near home; we are always able to get it from you. We usually go with standard delivery, but it is always quick.

    I’ve never been disappointed in any of the Sausagemaker products. But…the shipping is just horrible. I order similar products from much further away and get them in half the time. You are an 8 hour drive from my home and it always takes 7 to 8 days for product to arrive. To be fair, the website does say it will take that long. Time to dump that shopper. Until then I will but from a competitor. 5 stars for product, 1 for shipping.

    I like using this better than NFDM. I like being able to say that there is no dairy in our sausage. I have not shopped around so I can’t comment on whether or not the price is good, but I love the service that SausageMaker provides. I am not motivated to look.

    I have been making sausage for about 10 years now and this is the first time I have used the soy protein concentrate. I am very pleased with the outcome of my sausage with it staying juicey and minimal shrinkage. But had to adjust my recipe because of the amount of water I had to add so that I could use the stuffer. 3 cups of SPC to 25 lbs of meat made a giant doughball. Lol. But was good.

    Unfortunately it took Sausagemaker three tries with shipping to get it right. First, they shipped me one item out of 8 on the order, and that shipment took over 2.5 weeks to arrive. Next, after I called to let the. Know they made a mistake, they shipped, overnight, all but one item from the rest of my order. Finally, after having to call them again, they shipped my last item 2-day shipping. Three weeks to get my order, and with all of the inconvenience they caused, one would think they would send me some sort of apology gift, but I got nothing but a disgruntled customer service rep to deal with.

    Have not tried this product yet, reason for average rating. Going to use in place of NFDM. Last couple snack stick I used NFDM still seemed to render out the fat making a dry stick. Hoping this will solve my issue without increasing the percentage ratio.

    I have used this for years for sausage and snack sticks, it works as stated.I ran out the last time I made snack sticks with sausage maker jalapeño snack stick mix and you could tell the difference in shrinkage with and without the concentrate, buy the way the jalapeño mix is a must try if you like your sticks a bit on the snappy side.

    I only found Soy Protein Concentrate available from Sausage Maker. I tried making the concentrate from scratch using local ingredients but the final product is not the same.

    We use this in our lumpia shanghai (Filipino Egg rolls) for the sole purpose of soaking up the liquid from the ground meat and moisture from the minced vegetables. Procedurally we use to take the time to squeeze the minced vegetables in a cheese cloth to remove excess liquid, but not anymore! This simple product saves us a lot on cost due to labor!

    Soy protein is a protein that is isolated from soybean. It is made from soybean meal that has been dehulled and defatted. Dehulled and defatted soybeans are processed into three kinds of high protein commercial products: soy flour, concentrates, and isolates. 

    Soy protein concentrate is about 70% soy protein and is basically defatted soy flour without the water-soluble carbohydrates.
