  4. I built a smoker out of an old refrigerator the inside dimensions are 14inx23inx31in will this 1000w element provide enough heat to keep it above 180 F or should I opt for the 2100w for a 50lb smoker?

    Hi Steven,

These elements are used on our 20/30lb smokers. Our 30lb smoker is:

    • Inside Dimensions: 15″ D x 16 1/2″ W x 24 1/2 H min., 34 1/2″ H max
    • Outside Dimensions: 17 1/2″ D x 19″ W x 48 1/2″ H

    The 20lb smoker is:
    • Inside Dimensions : 16 3/8″ W x 15″ D x 15 1/2″ H (minimum) 22 3/4″ H maximum
    • Outside Dimensions : 19 1/4″ W x 19 1/2″ D x 36 5/8″ H

This element heats up both of these smokers up to 200 degrees. We don't know how the element will function in a smoker smaller or larger than these, since the dimensions of your smoker doesn't match up with any of ours. The 50lb heating element is 220V just so you are aware.

    Sincerely,
    Meghan
