I used to get the whole peppercorns and crack them myself in a mortar and pestle, but I spent more time rounding up the “escaped” corns than cracking them. The six mesh is much easier to crush.

I am a serious pepper person. This smells heavenly, and I use coarse ground pepper one day, and the cracked pepper the next. I believe I’ve read somewhere pepper is not digested. Does this explain the occasional tummy ache? Oh! Well!
