An edible casing generally used to make pork sausage links or breakfast sausage. Sausage Maker casings come packed in purified salt for an indefinite shelf life when refrigerated. Casings should be flushed and soaked in water before using. Salted casings have a very long shelf life when stored properly. Un-refrigerated, these salted casings quickly begin to give off a strong odor even though they are not spoiled. Put them back under refrigeration and this odor for the most part subsides.

    Arrived quickly and packaged well. Casings were well salted and packed in a plastic bag inside a jar with tamper-proof lid.
    I’ve stuffed about eight pounds of breakfast links so far. Rinsed casings inside and out, soaking in cold water for about a half hour before filling.
    The casings are super smooth and supple – indiscernible from fresh. Average length is about six feet. No holes or blemishes. Highly recommended!

    Sheep casing can be a pain to work with at times, but I find the product from Sausage Maker to be an easier casing to stuff than others I have used. Most likely due to the packaging they use and the storage containers.

    I imagine with all things of this nature it takes practice. It took me a while to get use to using these and not overfill them and cause a blow out. But it was also my first time ever using natural casings.

    Since this is the first time ever using a natural casing I found it a little more difficult to work with while wearing gloves but quickly got the hang of it and it worked out fine. This casing has some surprising strength to it while stuffing yet is not present while eating. I highly recommend it.
