19mm (3/4″) Smoked Collagen Casings is a  clear smoked collagen casing used for dried sausage sticks or other semi-dry or dry cured products. These casings are made to be more durable to carry the weight of the meat when hanging on a smokehouse stick.
Made from the hide of cattle, totally edible. Keep refrigerated.

    I have used these 19 MM Collagen casings from the very beginning of my sausage making and they are always perfect for long 12 hour smokes to get excellent quality snack sticks. After they cool and are vacuumed packed for a few days the casing has a nice texture or chew to it that adds to the snack stick experience. These sticks exceed anything I can find in stores!!!

    A bit disappointed. I have never used your collagen casings. I always used sheep casings. The collagen may be eatable but I found it to be offensive in that it was like eating plastic.

    Unfortunately it took Sausagemaker three tries with shipping to get it right. First, they shipped me one item out of 8 on the order, and that shipment took over 2.5 weeks to arrive. Next, after I called to let the. Know they made a mistake, they shipped, overnight, all but one item from the rest of my order. Finally, after having to call them again, they shipped my last item 2-day shipping. Three weeks to get my order, and with all of the inconvenience they caused, one would think they would send me some sort of apology gift, but I got nothing but a disgruntled customer service rep to deal with.

    Product was fine. Shipping and customer service was terrible. Charges my C.C. immediately and never shipped the product out for twp weeks. Never heard of that in this day and age. I found better place to shop while waiting for my order.

Questions and answers of the customers

    Is there a method during processing to make these casings more edible? They are hard to bite through and sticks are better when casing is peeled off. I want that snap when you bite it.

    Collagen can be tough. Sausages should be dried overnight in your refrigerator before smoking. Also shower with cold water after smoking.
