Food-Grade Cheese Wax
Cheese wax is made specifically for coating cheese after it's made to prevent the growth of mold and to help retain the cheese's moisture during the aging process. We sell two different forms of food grade cheese wax: red cheese wax and black cheese wax. We also offer 100% all-natural beeswax, which may be used as an alternative for coating cheese. All three options, which are packaged in one-pound blocks, can be used to cover approximately 12-20 cheeses when applied by the brush on method. When doing the brushing, a natural bristle brush must be used, as a brush with synthetic bristles will melt when dipped into hot wax.
Both the black and red wax cheese covering options are identical except for the color of the food grade coloring added. Both are made from a combination of paraffin and microcrystalline wax. After being peeled off, the wax may be reused again and again after being strained through butter muslin.
