Cellulose Sausage Casings
When buying sausage casings here at The Sausage Maker, you have the option of numerous types, including natural casings made from beef, sheep or hog, organic sausage casings, cellulose sausage casings, collagen, plastic and more. This section is dedicated to cellulose casings, which are an alternative to casings made from animal intestines. Cellulose sausage skin is made from viscose, which is a semisynthetic fiber that provides a strong receptacle for stuffing your sausage products.
We offer three sizes of cellulose sausage casings here – 21mm (13/16”), 25mm (1”) and 31mm (1-1/4”) casings. The 21mm size are what you'd use to make grocery store–style hot dogs or breakfast links. One pack contains five strands – enough to stuff 35 pounds of sausage. The 25mm size comes four strands per pack, enough for 40 pounds of sausage. The 31mm size comes three strands per package – enough for 40 pounds of sausage.
