Description

We are happy to introduce Sausage Maker's Premium Quality, Competition-Grade Wood Chips! Chipped in small, made-to-order quantities assures best possible flavor and moisture content. After all the care you take to process, prepare and ready your product for smoking & cooking, why not give the best final touch using the best quality woodchips. Smoke flavors permeate and change the taste and aroma of your product, let's treat our wood selection as importantly as we do quality meat and ingredients.

This mild flavor wood is fantastic to mix with other woods for unique flavor combinations. We recommend mixing with a Cherry wood or Apple wood.

Use Post Oak Wood for Competition BBQ's, all Beef Smoking, Venison/Game, Pork Sausage, Pork Whole Muscle (Bacon, Shoulder, Loins), Turkey, Goose, Pheasant.

NEVER Kiln Dried? Why is that important?

Kiln drying wood removes the best part of the wood...moisture and sugars. They are what produces the best flavor. Kiln dried wood may be cheaper but it also produces less flavor, meaning you will use more wood to acquire the flavor you are looking for. Extra dry woodchips and sawdust flare up often and if not moistened, can produce an acrid taste to smoked meats... our woodchips are kept as logs in a climate controlled warehouse (not in the elements) and chipped to order for best flavor and moisture retention. This is why we pack them in breathable cardboard, to allow the wood to gradually release its moisture and prevent the flavor-rich wood chips from molding as they would in air-sealed plastic bags.

When it comes to long smokes, at LOW TEMPS needed on cuts like Brisket, Pork Butts, & Ribs, the best flavor comes from properly seasoned wood. Not only will you use less wood, saving you money, but you will also improve your flavor profile. Keep in mind when using that this wood burns in more controlled, thinner, yet more

The first impression is often most important, especially in competitive BBQ smoking and taste-testing. Let your choice of wood create the best possible aroma, vibrant surface color development, and tasteful initial bite that your product deserves. Use Sausage Maker for your Best Recipes.
