PLEASE NOTE: Natural casings cannot be shipped outside the US

An edible casing, generally used for making Italian Sausage, bratwursts and Country Breakfast Sausage. 1 lb of meat will use about 2.5 feet of casing. Sausage Maker casings are packed in purified salt and have an indefinite shelf life when stored in the refrigerator. Flush and soak in tap water before using. Salted casings have a very long shelf life when stored properly. Un-refrigerated, these salted casings quickly begin to give off a strong odor even though they are not spoiled. Put them back under refrigeration and this odor for the most part subsides. Stuffing capacity per pack: Approximately 70 lbs.

this is the second time that I ordered these casings and have been pleased with the results. I previously could only find casings locally at the area grocery chain and only during the fall of the year. These casings seemed like they were short leftover ends (the longest were 3 ft) and they had all of these unsightly strings attached that had to be individually picked off. They seemed to split very easily. when i received the casings the Sausage Maker, the first thing i noticed is that these casings were full length. the second thing i noticed was that i had virtually no blow outs during the stuffing process and finally there was none of the unsightly membrane strings hanging on to the outside of the casing. i couldn't have been more pleased.
