Great grinder for small batches

I have had this grinder for many years and will unfortunately have to order another as my house burned down. You definitely cannot over tighten the ring. The grinder will break if you put to much pressure on it as any thing will. I bet that reviewer 2 did not cool his meet enough and then tried to force it through the grinder. Meat must be cooled in the freezer before grinding. Otherwise it will cause the grinder to work to hard.
It doesn't take long to grind 5lbs of meat if it is chilled properly.

Works Good for Me...

It's a #10 manual grinder, its not intended to grind large amounts of meat. Works great for my 5 lb batches. The quality is solid, no complaints, as long as the grinder isn't 'man-handled', it will not break. Tip for Any manual grinder: if its difficult to turn the handle with NO meat inside, the locking ring is on too tight, adding meat will only put more strain on the grinder... Know your equipment.

Not a good buy

First off, this is WAY overpriced. Second, it will grind meat OK in small ammounts. The weakest link of this product is the mounting system. Didn't take long for it to break and then your left with a worthless hunk of metal. I know this because I bought two of them and both broke in the same place. NEVER will I buy another one of these.
