50 Lb. Electric Smokehouse Troubleshooting Guide
1. The smokehouse will not turn on:
a. Make sure the smokehouse is wired correctly (see wiring diagram)
b. Make sure the smokehouse has power going to it.
2. Smokehouse does not stay at the temperature set on the control:
a. The temperature in the smokehouse will normally fluctuate approximately +/- 10 degrees while it goes through cycles.
b. Turn the control dial as far left as it will go. When it is in this position, the dial should be pointing to the starting position.
c. Make sure the sensor is not touching anything in the smokehouse except what is holding it in place. The sensor should also be raised slightly off the rear wall.
d. Make sure the wire going to the sensor is not damaged. If it is, contact The Sausage Maker to get a new sensor.
e. Make sure temperature sensor is clean from smoke residue.
3. The smokehouse does not heat up:
a. Check to be sure that the unit is plugged in.
b. Make sure that the electric circuits have not popped.
c. Check the heating element to make sure that it is not sagging and touching the element housing, causing a short in the heating element. If it is, contact The Sausage Maker to get a new heating element.
