PLEASE NOTE: Natural casings cannot be shipped outside the US.

An edible casing generally used to make frankfurters, Italian or breakfast (country) sausage. 1 lb of meat will use about 2 1/4' of casings. Sausage Maker casings are packed in purified salt and have an indefinite shelf life when stored in the refrigerator. Flush and soak in tap water before using. Salted casings have a very long shelf life when stored properly. Un-refrigerated, these salted casings quickly begin to give off a strong odor even though they are not spoiled. Put them back under refrigeration and this odor for the most part subsides. Stuffing capacity per hank: Approximately 95 lbs.

These are the best casings we have found for stuffing our yearly sausage.  They are long, little to no holes, and are in a brine solution--not dry salt--so need very little pre-soaking to soften.  GREAT PRODUCT!!

The casing seems to tear very easy,, I have been making my own sausage for years and have never come across this before.. when rinsing out the casing I see some little holes and tears.. is the product not good ??

I have tried artificial casings and find them lacking when it comes to absorbing smoke. I much prefer the smoking qualities of the natural casings
