23mm (15/16”) Vegetarian Sausage Casings
Our highly popular vegan sausage casing looks and tastes remarkably like a fresh collagen casing. We recommend using them with any fresh, small-diameter imitation meat-, fish-, vegetable- or fruit-based sausage for sturdy handling and a classic sausage snap. These casings are very tender, so stuff carefully and bring your temperature up very slowly while cooking. Stuffing capacity is approximately 10 lbs. per strand (one strand per package).
Try pan frying these edible imitation sausage casings for no longer than 3-4 minutes with (preferably) no oil, on medium/light heat. If smoking, dry at 140-150F for at least an hour with dampers fully open, then add smoke and cook at temps below 175F, always keeping dampers fully open. These can be microwaved as well.
For storage, keep in a sealed bag at ambient temperature and humidity, ideally 45-60%. Shelf life of this product is 2 years.
