An edible casing generally used to make pork sausage links or breakfast sausage. Approximately 100 yards long. Sausage Maker casings come packed in purified salt for an indefinite shelf life when refrigerated. Casings should be flushed and soaked in water before using. Salted casings have a very long shelf life when stored properly. Un-refrigerated, these salted casings quickly begin to give off a strong odor even though they are not spoiled. Put them back under refrigeration and this odor for the most part subsides. Stuffing capacity: Approximately 40 lbs.

We ( me and 2 friends) make beef sausage every 3-4 months, so I buy 3 containers at a time. Easy to work with and beats synthetic casings by far. This is my 4th order and received top quality casings every time.

I agree with Justin 100%. Very short lengths, typically 5 to 6 feet.. I spent more time trying to get the damn things onto the stuffer tube than I did stuffing and making links thanks to the short lengths and many splits. I've made sausages at home for many years and have used sheep casings from other sources, so I do know what I'm doing. After trying these on a third batch today I threw the rest away.

Man did I struggle with these. Holes, blow outs, short strands. What a pain. Maybe I just had a sad batch but wont do it again. The only reason I marked one star is that the product made it to me on time.
